Pitch - the script
Together as a group we have decided to name our film “The Black Apple”, we have named the film this as “Apple” is the main concept of our film – being inspired by the film Snow White. In addition, the “Black” represents evilness, death and applies the enigma code theory – questions the audience.
Summary of our film:
Set in a mystical village, the story retells the classic story of Snow White, but with a thrilling twist to it. The adventure unfolds as a young innocent girl gets overwhelmed in the temptation of a dark force, which in result leads her to her downfall. A mystery occurs, where she takes a bite into an apple that was a forbidden treasure and now she must pay the price, and so does everybody else…
Age Rating and audience appeal:
We have decided to rate our film a certificate 15 as the film includes some violence, imitable behaviour and little touch into the genre of horror.
Together, we have thought of our possible target audiences:
The primary audience would be: Thriller film fans as they will be the ones who will be appealed to first, they will be the group of people who would want to watch the film before any other people. Our secondary audience would be teenagers or Disney teenage fans as Snow White was one of the most popular childhood Disney movies and the secondary audience would want to watch it.

Our information on this was mostly on a powerpoint which will be posted after this. We used the information on the power point as a guide and included more detail when we spoke about the opening.

After looking at all our locations, discussing the pro's and cons as a group, we have decided to film at Ashridge Park.

After looking at all our locations, discussing the pro's and cons as a group, we have decided to film at Ashridge Park.
Our reasons were:
- It's a vast area so there is plenty of space to film in
- It has visual appeal as it's pleasant to look at
- It's an isolated area so there shouldn't be too many people there
- Easy to gain permission to film there
- Easy transportation - we all live fairly near the area so being able to get the group members and equipment there shouldnt be too hard
- It's an area in which we will be safe
- There are a lot of dark tones in the area which will help set the atmosphere for our opening
- We will have to be organised with transport and scheduling as Ashridge is a twenty minute drive from where we live and as none of us drive we will have to make sure we secure a lift from someone we know or get public transport there
- Due to the season, there are less daylight areas so we will have to film earlier and if we do film at night we will have to be extra cautious with equipment.
- Camera and equipment must be used and packed away properly to avoid damages.
- We must be careful of the river as we don't want any of the group members to fall in it or to drop any of our equipment in it.
- There is uneven paths and grasses so we must be cautious when in the location.
- Weather - weather can be unpredictable so we must prepare for that. We have to make sure that if it rains for example, that we can get the equipment out of there safely and quickly to avoid water damage.
- Water hazards - there could be water on the paths and we could slip on this so we must be vigilant of this.
- Noise - although it is quite an isolated area, there may be other people around the area so we must be respectful of how much noise we make.
- Litter - we must ensure we leave no litter as that would be disrespectful
- Respect - We must be respectful of this enviroment and all the things in it.
- Tripod - We should ensure that it is stable whilst it is being used and we should also ensure that it is packed securely to avoid damage
- Timing - We should try to make sure we aren't there for longer than we need to be.

I decided to go and take pictures of Gadebridge Park which is a large field area with a park in my local town (Hemel Hempstead). It is easy to get too, and will be easy to film in and get permission to film in. The area is large enough to have a lot of areas to consider using.

Health and Safety
- Rubbish on the floor - trip hazard
- Areas of pavement - could potentially be harmful if someone trips on the pavement.
- The river that is a part of the park - we must be careful when we are near this area and make sure we don't drop the camera in there by accident or damage any of our equipment by getting water on it.
- Small holes or dips in the grass and pavement - potential trip hazards.
- The weather - the weather may change at any time and it could rain so we would have to be prepared to be able to get out of the area quickly without any of our props and equipment being damaged by water
- Other people - other people may be using the field at the same time and we would have to be respectful and try to avoid them being in the background of shots.
- Respect - we would have to respect the area and not leave rubbish around.
- Noise - it is a local area and there are some houses fairly near so we would be respectful of how much noise we make.
- Transport - All the group members live fairly near to Gadebridge Park so transport shouldn't be much of an issue. We would have to make sure that the equipment such as the camera is transported safely.

This is a screen shot of the online survey I made. I made it so I could find out what people thought of Snow White and what they would think of our film idea. I will be asking people on my social network sites to fill out the survey so I will roughly know the age group and type of people that will be answering the survey.

Textual analysis of a British film: "Harry Potter"

I chose to analysis Harry Potter because it is well known for being a "British Film" and it also fits into the fantasy genre. Harry Potter is well known and very successful, so by analysising it's opening, I could learn how to make my film opening more successful and draw inspiration from it.
I have only analysed the first two minutes of this clip; up until Hagrid said: "good evening professor"
