The purpose of this blog is too put on my Media Studies AS Coursework which is to produce a two minute film opening with the genre of our choice. I will be working in a group with two other students: Tayla Powell and Nicola Ho.

Before we start filming and editing the film opening there is a lot of pre filming work we will need to do such as:

• Research and ideas
• Research into genre codes and conventions
• Textual analysis of two minute clips from films
• Storyboard
• Shot cuts
• Location scouting (taking photos or videos with commentary)
• Organization of props, costumes and make up
• Institutional research - production company and distribution studios
• Logo design and audience
• Logo analysis
• Audience analysis- questionnaires, define the audience, what audience consumes, their likes and interest etc.
• Plot summary - 200 words on what film is about
• Script

Most of this work will be going on to the blog, and we will use various software and technology to show these pieces of work. Hopefully we will be able to put up our final piece on here or at least have some part of the film opening on here. We also have to do a preliminary video on wednesday which will be continuity filming. We will be filming the process of  someone walking through a door and coming into the room and have a small conversation with someone. Hopefully we'll be able to put that up here too.
